Un Lion a Paris-illustration

This image has such a beautiful, childlike naivety  and great appeal. It uses the complementary combination of blue and orange, against an otherwise monochromatic background. Strong geometric shapes receding into the background, creating a sense of perspective and the shadows give a sense of time. This image creates a sense of melancholy, and reminds me of the paintings of the metaphysical artist Giorgio de Chirico, that influenced the later surrealist painters.
